- Corn for Grain/Sale: You get your main crop, the corn cobs, for food or sale.
- Fodder for Animals: The rest of the plant—stalks, leaves, and husks—is excellent, nutritious feed (fodder) for cattle, goats, sheep, and even poultry.

The Techniques for Dual Impact
Here’s how to do it effectively:
- Harvest Cobs Fresh: Start by harvesting your mature corn cobs from the field when they are ripe. As seen in the image above, you can shuck them immediately.
- Cut the Stalks Immediately: Do not let the stalks dry out in the sun after picking the cobs. Cut the remaining green stalks close to the ground right away.
- Process for Fodder:
- Silage: This is the best method. Chop the green stalks and leaves, pack them tightly in a pit or bag, and allow them to ferment. This stores the feed for months.
- Direct Feeding: Feed the freshly cut, chopped green fodder directly to your animals. They love it!
