Basic steps:
- Peel and wash cassava
- Grate with machine
- Ferment for 2–3 days
- Dewater using hydraulic press
- Sieve the mash
- Fry in a clean, stainless pan
- Cool and dry properly
📌 Clean environment is KEY. Garri must be processed under hygienic conditions if you wan export.
✅ Step 3: Get NAFDAC & SON Approval
Before export:
- Register with NAFDAC
- Package in food-grade materials
- Label well (product name, net weight, origin, contact)
You go also need Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) clearance for packaging materials.
✅ Step 4: Choose Proper Packaging
Use:
- Airtight polythene or plastic containers
- Sealed bags with label
- Carton for bulk orders
